Espace Phase IV, torrential rain last night resulted in one of the rear seats getting a premature wash, think it was the high level brake light, water getting in around that. The other was the rear interior was wet on the left hand side, round where the rear side window is, water has come in and soaked it from the back side of the panel

Not to happy about that, as I can't see where the water is coming in from?

I would check all the seals on the doors first and then the windows.

Thing is, it's wet above the window to, and without taking the trim off from around the window, and not to keen on that, with airbags being behind them and all.... Is there anywhere on the roof where it could be pouring through?

Take the inside panels off, sprinkle some talk on the inner wheel wells or metal panels and you should see where the water is tracking from. Aerial hole?.?

Unfortunately DCM renaults are notorious for water ingress, Could be anywhere!

Usually the poor rubber on metal seals so all door seals and window seals.

My brother-in-law took his espace somewhere that specialised in fixing leaks on renaults ill speak to him tomorrow.

Ta, I am just a little nervous working round the airbags behind the panels, so don't want to be pulling off panels if I can treat the problem from the outside...

Air bags are ok for trim removal, if you want to play safe, disconect battery for 15 mins.
We don't even blink an eye taking wheel bag off, even with ignition on now.

You need to do a water test and see if it's still coming in.
It could be a seam that's leaking if the water is up that high.

What's the history of the vehicle? Has it been in any accidents?

Espaces are bonded together

Can't say categorically that it has never had an accident at some point, but a mechanic friend has had a good look over it when I bought it and nothing caused him concern.

If I got time tomorrow, will try removing some more trim.
