yep thats where i got my info after inadverdantly upgrading when not strictly neccessary . been running hobbywing extreme stocks for a good while even bullistorm cheapies will take hw software Been very very happy with them

latest 3.1 software allows you choice of firmware for v2 or latest v3 ESC
best of both worlds

looking forward to picking up a v3 soon

regards dave

i think politely you may be incorrect

there are two sets of firmware within 3.1 one as you quite rightly say is for v3 speedos

the other v1.08 040512 (or something very similiar ) allows you to talk to v2 hobbywing etc

ask me how i know !!!

regards fid

I put the new 3.1 software on the programming box and it didn't want to talk with my v2.1. I need to investigate further. ....

If you don't put the V3 specific software on, then you're good to go.

I'm working on a FAQ section on the CPD Racing site at the moment, should be ready by Monday/Tuesday of next week.

Things like:
Software installations
Programming box firmwares
Speedo firmwares
Starting points
wiring boosters
1s settings, blinky mode etc etc

One little tip for you:

If you put the V3 firmware on the programming box, you CAN still use it with a 2.1 speedo.

To do this, plug it in to the PC software, it will warn you to update the firmware otherwise !

If you plug it into the PC, you can update the settings from the PC software and send back to the ESC as normal, but not with the box alone.

http://cpdracing.co.uk/index.php?opt...info&Itemid=56

Just put up a section on the site for some information on the Hobbywing products.

We'll add more in the near future, but if there's a specific item you'd like shown (how to set up for TC etc) then let us know !

Default Hobbywing program box with Orion (or others)

Has anyone got the Hobbywing box to work with the Orion R10 yet? They used to be compatiable across all platforms and I wasa hoping with the V3 software that it may have been.... but couldn't get it to work (admittedly didn't try hard)
I'm still using it through the PC fine though and have the box set for the 1S.

I just got a HW program box and it has software V1.17_140315

I have never heard of this software and wonder if I can get the V1.08 on there again?

Thanks

Yes ,download the HW software ,connect the box to your PC with a USB cable and the software should allow you from the drop down list to choose the firmware that you want.😁

The speedpassion software also works with the hobbywing ESC. I was having trouble downloading the hobbywing one so I tried the speed passion one and it worked.
