Default Winter Warmer Series 2011-12 Round 5

After a very successful first four rounds our annual Winter Warmer Series continues on Sunday 05 February and over the next two months. There is a round each month taking place on the first Sunday of each month.

This choice of race date ensures that EPR doesnt conflict with any other local club or major series within a sensible distance. Hopefully this will encourage more to attend our meetings that have proven to be very popular over the last few years.

The same proven format will be retained for this series with four qualifiers and a final for all. There are no tyre restrictions so drivers are welcome to use what they choose. Our December meeting will incorporate a raffle to add to the festive feeling.

The track is 90% Astroturf and drains very well so the inclement weather rarely affects our meetings. Parking and pitting is available trackside with an on-site cafe and bar as well as a safe area for the children to play.

If you intend to come down and haven't raced at the track in recent years, please e-mail your details to "edenparkraceway at live dot com" so we can save some time at booking in. Please include your full name, BRCA number, frequency, 2012 BRCA formula and PT numbers if applicable.

The dates are as follows:
5 February 2012
4 March 2012

We are also very pleased to announce that, with the agreement of other interested parties, CPD Racing will now be providing a trackside shop for this round and the remainder of our Winter Warmer series!

Drivers should check out www.cpdracing.co.uk for comprehensive details of what CPD (aka John and Chris) can offer, they can be contacted by email at: sales at cpdracing.co.uk, the guys have asked that if you have any special requests (they will be bringing all the usual off-road consumables, wheels, tyres, inserts, glue, pinions, that sort of stuff!) to email them directly and they will reply or return calls to phone numbers!

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to PM myself or MattADH or through the EPR site at www.edenparkraceway.com

I'll be there with the trusty rusty 2wd truck... All good!

My friend Alex is also coming with his Slash - nice!

I've also charged up the little onboard cam - so with some servo tape and the odd zip tie anyone's free to try it out. Hahaa!

Here's some footage from last year....

Hey all, CPD Racing will be in attendance this weekend, if there is anything specific you need, please shout. One small note, John cannot make it this weekend, so will just be myself (and maybe a helper if she wants to brave the cold)

If anyone is planning on doing off road wars, come and see us, we have a large batch of mini pins!

Right, back on topic!

All drivers near or far, please keep a careful check on the weather!
Local forecast here: http://www.bbc.co.uk/weather/br3
Unfortunately BBC Weather this morning were forecasting 'significant' (possibly up to 10cm!) snow falls Saturday evening/night through to Sunday!

We will try to keep drivers updated throughout the day and evening!
Shame if it happens, track looks really good right now, possibly even dry!

We're at the track right now and it's looking good!

Unfortunately this isn't!

Been snowing here for about an hour now!

Light but persistent with some heavier falls, roads covered already!

Will update situation and any decision a little later!

Right, decision made!

Due to adverse weather conditions, which are getting increasingly worse and are due to continue throughout the night we have, unfortunately decided to cancel tomorrows round of the Winter Warmer series.
Roads are becoming increasingly unsafe, the track won't be fit to drive and one of our Race Directors is stranded in Oxford!

We may try and re-arrange later in the year, early April maybe but we'll think about that at a later date!

Sorry guys but that's how it is!

i live walking distance from steve and we have at least an inchs worth in places and its still coming down. there is no sign of it stopping either. good call steve. i'd rather race later than try and get to the track in the snow.
