Default Put shell holes in wrong place...

For some reason I've managed to put the bodyshell holes a few mm away from where they should be (despite measuring twice and cutting once )

I've reamed out the holes a bit bigger to correct, but now obviously I have an oversized hole.

Any suggestions on a way of backing up the hole with a bit of extra material to stop the shell moving around too much?

In the past I have used the self-adhesive foam body washers, but don't have any to hand. I was thinking of making a washer with scrap lexan, but what should I use to bond it to the shell without damaging the paint surface or looking too obvious?

A nice big washer made from spare lexan will be the best way to fix this.
The bigger the better as it will give you more area to glue.

If you have some thin but strong double sided tape this should work.

Otherwise you can glue the washers to the body with epoxy.

The lexan is the right idea. You could mount it with a strong double sided tape. Shoe goo would prob work well too but I personally have not used it.

You can also use some grommets. Muchmore sell them in a pack of two sizes. Just fit them in the holes and they take up the slack. Thats IF the hole isn't too big.

Ive been here...

I recently did it with one of my custom painted shells, which i nearly cried, luckily it was only the rears, so i swapped the body posts around and drilled correctly this time, covered the others with stickers.

The best bet is to use an extra peice of lexan as youve said (usually from the wheelarch cutouts), just use some muchmore double sided , and narrow in the hole with it until your happy enough.
