Absolutely stunning in all its newness!! The Works Cougar2 is in my opinion one of the best looking off road buggies of all time - & your build Mark, certainly adds fuel for this claim!

The only problem is that I've now realised that I've got the incorrect grey shock cartridges - not the white ones that seem to be correct for the Cougar2/Bosscat era Schumachers

Don't worry about the white ones, go straight for the purple alloy versions. They work much better U1818 if you are looking for any, there's a few shops that still have them in stock.

.... actually that was my plan.. but the U1818s seemed to have dissapeared from the usual sources, any ideas?

Great thread, enjoyed the restorations to one of my all time favorite rc cars and IMO one of the greatest 2wd's of all time. A couple of weeks ago, thanks to a fellow oopel, schumacher fan, I located a cougar2 team(red chassis) and a few weeks before that, picked up a top cat. I was thinking of using the red chassis for the top cat and some other parts from the C2t but not sure at this point. Anyway, quick question to you or anyone in this thread, as I'm new to the restoration process. What are some of the best ways to clean up the chassis's and any of the aloy parts for that matter?

I can start my own thread if it's a bother

Hi matey,

I also did a thread on here for a Cougar 2 Team. It shows chassis and the magical work of RichyUK on here and his HYDRO-DIPPING. Richy sorted my chassis in a purple carbon effect from a used scratched red team chassis. Take a look at that thread I did, and see the chassis. Stunning work from RichyUK....
