Default Schumacher Cougar 2 WORKS REBUILD !!

So here we go again.....

I won this on Ebay a while back and have kept it in a box until I was ready to rebuild it.

A good friend of mine knew I was looking for one a while back and found this for me.

It was put in the WRONG area of ebay. It was under Tamiya and that was it.

Now being the type of good, honest, trust worthy type of guy I am. !! I DID NOT TELL HIM WHAT IT WAS !!.....

I bid on it and WON IT !! Now when it turned up I realized it wasnt a Tamiya. It was only a Cougar 2 WORKS.......

I will be rebuilding soon, so will put pics along the way.....

Here are the pics of it when it was on Ebay. Not sure if they are any good.

Nice Tamiya!

Looking forward to seeing this transformation! - What are your plans for the chassis?

Hi Dan,

The chassis is being Hydro-Dipped. It should be black/silver carbon. Im also having a set of plates done the same. I also have a spare set so will either be purple or the Hydro plates.

I have spent some time on the chassis rubbing down so there is no marks....

Default Cougar 2 Works Motor Plates.

I have been working on the Cougar 2 Works motor/transmission plates today.

I have stripped and finished them in Mirror Chrome Purple. They look awesome. I will post pics once I have finished the complete Works Gear Box.

So do you have to remove all the old purple before you can hydro dip them?

Hi Daz,

No you dont have to remove the purple. Just all grease etc.. and smooth out any marks for a better finish.

I dont do the Hydro-Dipping its RichyUK on here that does all my stuff. There is a waiting list but worth the wait.

I have done the purple plates today, but these are not Hydro-Dipped. I have another set of Cougar works plates being Hydro-Dipped in Black/Silver carbon.

But I think I will use these Chrome purple plates I did today......

Default Pro Diff, Slipper and WASP Belt

Pro Diff stripped cleaned, came up like new. WASP orange belt ready for the gearbox and slipper shaft cleaned with idler.

New belt adjusters should be here tomorrow, so will be able to finish the gearbox. I also have a new WORKS gear cover to cut out for it to finish it off.
