It was a good event, Ed and the boys did a real good job of making sure everything ran smoothly. Everyone enjoyed the racing and the 'Craic' was good. Just a pity that no drivers from the south managed to make the trip, don't forget it's your best 3 scores from the 4 rounds to count. Will be interesting to see how well the other rounds are supported.

Great Job Ed, delighted that the series is now up and running. I apologise on behalf of all the southern racers for not attending - most wanted to go but couldnt, myself included, but unfortunately some just wouldnt make the effort or didnt want to participate.

I hope to arrange car pooling for the next northern round to aid attendence.

We are all looking forward to round 2 on December 30th

Will,

This is a very unfair and unhelpful comment.

Part of my Saturday was taken up the collecting trophies for the RCCAOI membership. Another part was taken up with getting documentation ready for the RCCAOI AGM, which was on today.
(Which was very poorly attended by the 1/10 electric section.)

Paraonia, no, but people making promises on my behalf, that's something that I'm no happy about.

You won't be seeing me at the next Northern round.
As at any stage I never express any interest or commitment to this championship.

As the organiser of the championship, I can assure you that nobody promised me that you would attend - infact, apart from David Home, nobody said that they would definitely be there. I txt'd all the people that I tought would be interested several weeks ago and I specifically remember you telling me that you were not available on the 19th. Many southern drivers initially showed alot of interest, but for various coincidental reasons, they couldn't make it on the day. I know the final round in Fivemiletown will be different. So you can be happy again.

I also gave a short speech at half time in the proceedings regarding the Winter Race. I felt like a dickhead because no one from the south was there to support me in my efforts and you could see by the way everyone had that" Where the hell are they?" look on there faces that no one was interested. A mistake I wont be making again.

Top man David, your efforts are greatly appreciated . I'd say with Winter Race Ireland taking place less than 3 weeks before the Xmas GP (Indoor Series Round 2) that most non-local drivers will opt for one or the other.

Many thanks for your support

So tell me guys what possible influence would the drivers from the north have for travelling to Dublin to race ?!

The organiser of this event couldn't make it !!! So nobody goes ????
And on top of that what club would arrange a race day on the very same day as their governing body AGM ???

Very disgruntled with the setup of this winter national series. I felt bad for Ed who put alot of effort into making this happen at DIR and not getting supported and felt even worse for David Home !

Not good guys not good. Think of how this looks to the prospective racers coming to the Winter Race !!

Maybe a bit of confussion, the rccaoi Agm was Sunday. Mick as chairman had to jump in and organise the trophy collection for me as i had been out of action for the past week with a slipped disk in my back. Cant speak for anyone else but i for one had been looking forward to racing last Saturday my injury came just at the wrong time

Colin you know me better than that chum. I'm not jumping in to anything. The RCCAOI had their AGM on Sunday yes ? Did the Dublin model car club have a race meeting on Sunday ?

We did have a meeting on Sunday, same as we do every Sunday, just not as many racers because of the AGM. Not all of our club members are association members and would still expect to race regardless of association business. Also a large portion of our members pay a monthly race fee so we can run every week whether the individuals turn up or not. Anyway what has what DMCC do got to do with anybody but it's members. Join our club and you can have your say about how we do things.
Also:
The national series is not a DMCC event but a collaboration between like minded individuals trying to further our hobby within the island of Ireland. Unfortunately the 19th turned out to be a bad date for alot of our guys but that is not a reflection on what may happen in other rounds. I would have loved to race on Saturday myself but couldn't due to work commitments. I really enjoy racing at craigavon and think its a great club hence why I have been known to drive up from South County Dublin on Wednesday nights whenever my work schedule allows.

Normally their enthusiasm to travel ridiculous distances sets our Dublin colleagues apart - I'd just put Saturday down as one of those mathematically unlikely days where the unusual happened.

I'll happily take the undeserved points in the mod class - 2nd in 2wd and 3rd in 4wd despite being, to be frank, rubbish . One decent result in the Naul and a good performance in Fivemiletown (I got 3rd there in a small field on Paddy's Day thanks to Derek's speedo dieing) where not many people have driven a 2wd (it is NOT easy), and I'm in the mix!

Need to fix the 4wd and learn how to drive the new 2wd, though....
