Thanks Ian mate,Awesome pictures
My favourite picture is picture number 5,just before the big double jumps.

Ok little report.
Pros.
Car ran really good,it was consistent and had a great amount of speed,The electronics didn't get to hot (Ian can back me up on that) lol,and it cornered REALLY smoothly.

Cons.
The esc became unstuck,Ian saved the day by asking one of his friends for some servo tape, but thats all stuck down again with the Hot glue gun.
The car didnt jump TOO well in the finals, maybe a little more preload is needed?
At top speed it felt a little unstable, again i think due to the suspension setup.

When i arrived the track was MUDDY,WET and generally horrible. So i was in Heat 2,and it was horrible, the mud weighed the car down at least 60 tonnes lol. After i cleaned the car up,the track started to dry up very quickly. It was sunny all day,and towards the final it was pretty much dry, with a few patches and it was dusty,so grib became a little issue.

Had a brillaint day !. My batteries ran the full 20 minutes !!!!
Although towards my last final,i was full throttle pretty much the whole time and the finished at 19:30 or something just 1 minute before the end .

Thanks for the pictures Ian and thanks for pitting for me.

What i'm most happy about is that my car didn't look like this at the end of the day: LOL

I'm in the process of converting my AE-RC8.2. So far its looking pretty good, just need to decide on cells and motor/speedo combo.

Keep us posted on what you get Terry. I've been looking at the new LRP stuff but am still favouring the Tekin stuff.

Keep us updated mate, personally i reckon the best brushless system is Tekin, especially for racing.
Cheaper option would be hobbywing etc.

Battery wise i recommend Turnigy batterys there not too expensive and my 4500mah lasted for a whole 20 minute final .
If you have more to spend i recommend the Gens Ace 5000mah 40c.

Thanks

Yeah the Tekin system is the nuts, had one before but sold it (wish I hadn't now) we ran it for 20 mins easy on some LRP 5300 and the speedo was still cool as a cucumber!

But they're a bit expensive so it looks like it'll be the hobbywing.
Just need to save up so I can get some lipo's now.

Can't you get a discount being in the industry Tel ?

Have you looked at the LRP one, slightly cheaper than the Tekin.

Ryan Cavaleri uses Lrp,but i'd recommend the hobbywing stuff. Their batteries are AMAZING,and a couple of mates have had their 1/8 system again very reliable and cheap. If your budget is bigger get Lrp,or Tekin.
Only a couple had problems with the system, but they got a full refund.

Haha, not that lucky unfortunately lol
Got a system sent through the other day. It'll be interesting to see how it performs....it'll be in the mag (RRCi) so keep your eyes open on it to see how it goes.

Race report.
The day was young, the car was set-up,the track was set-up,and i was set-up!, i skipped practise to save some battery life for qualifying, the qualifying session was good, but my suspension set-up wasn't up to its best standard.

i came 10th/16 in round 1.
Then 6/16 round 2.
Finally 9/16.

I then decided to fiddle around with the front sway bar and set the ride height a little better.

i qualified in the H final in position 8th and climbed my way up to 3rd position were i bumped up to the next final, in 13th position but i got a little nervous and had the acceleration on too much, which caused me to be 7th in that final.

Overall brilliant day, weather was great and a great race day.

Thanks again to Ian and his Girlfriend Lisa for taking the great pics.

Thanks.

Glad you like them, the rest of the pics didn't come out great, I'll get them on flickr and put a link up...

I've put them in the RC Graphy section
