Newbie Question about a Team C kit

TR02V2 Team-C Kit 2WD Rear Motor 1:10 RC Buggy Kit

A mate of mine has this kit never been built he wants £40.00 for it.(unused birthday present from his Missus) I have seen them for £65.00. Will it be ok to race with?
