I won this weekend B-final here in Slovakia with MadRat
I had problems with my brushless speedo, so I used old 19z brushed motor.
I used TRF shocks,TQ racing front parts,home-made T-plate reinforment,3racing plastic wing

Here are few pics:

Congratulations to all the winners! You guys are making us proud and give us ambition to push our limits, knowing that the car can do it, and if something goes wrong, it is not the car but ourselves

Just some question :
- The spring black with the kit are bettewen the the blue and red?
- the front block caster are 25 or 30°?
- I would like to butt the rear bloc, but they are differante bettewen the plastique one. How many Mm we have to putt to arrived at the A/B and for the C/D. The plastique C is the A or B on the alumunium ?
- If i dont do nothing for anti squat, how many ° I have? You change it on the font like a B4?

Default spares

We've got our first set of spares with jflaci. We have ordered them from Wien. No upgrade parts, only stock AR spares, but the feeling that if something brakes, I will have the spare to change it, is pretty nice
We will try later to make some upgrade parts, such as alu motor mount or front plate, T piece etc. But it is for now the story of the future
On the picture only my set of spares

Springs go in this order, from softest to stiffest:

Black
Purple
Red
Blue
Silver

But i never see the Silver spring.

This is a home made T piece, you can do the same if you want, this is only a piece come over the stock plastic one or buy a carbon T piece to TCModels.net

I do a test with a reinforced, but this change the car, and not really in the good way.
In the font you can use the new part with a big reinforced inside, no problem (for sure she can brake like all other piece and brand)

For the rear use this:
http://www.tcmodels.net/index.php?pa...mart&Itemid=71
Like this you reduce the flex, and you dont brake the rear T plate.
If you drive where you can have gripp like indoor, carpet, astro, bue grove, yhe best is tu putt the rear carbon T plate.

Hi guys, first I’d like to thank you all for the great and many advices you gave in this forum. On April I decided to start racing after many years bashing around, mainly with Tamiya cars. I didn’t want to be one of the many B4 guys and didn’t want to spend too much money, so I chose to buy two Mad Rat, one for racing and the other one for spares (a great combo from Germany for less than € 100, S&H included!!!). Then I started to upgrade it with full ball bearings, B4 Factory Team shocks, springs and titanium turnbuckles, Ansmann alu motor mount, front arm mount, 30° front hub carrier and 12mm hex drive, Ansmann 10T brushless system, Savox low profile SC1251MG servo. After few practice rounds at a local race truck I decided to add 30gr. using Core RC weights at the front to reduce understeering in low speed corners and I found out to prefer JConcepts Groovy front tires to the Proline 4-Rib ones. For rear tires I use Team Losi Big Shot that I think are better than JConcepts Goose Bumps or Proline Hole Shot. One of the biggest upgrade was the B-Fast diff and to follow the TQ Racing setting guide. This summer I’ve made my first race, the Italian 2WD Off Road Championship, not the savviest idea since I was the only rookie out of more than 70 racers and many of them were skeptical about my presence (few of them even annoyed). Anyway I ended the day 53rd after 5 qualifying rounds and 3 finals, always increasing lap totals while lowering lap times (those of the last final would have put me in the C final). The car was perfect, smooth and fast, with great handling and balance and probably in better hands would have had a much better result, but I didn’t broke anything and I’ve beaten many B4s and Cougars and more experienced drivers. By the way the 2nd overall was an X Pro (2nd, 2nd and 1st in the A finals). Next steps will be to practice, practice and practice even more, to try big bore shocks from TC Models and Panther front (Lynx 2) and rear (Raptor) tires and to work on some cool paintjobs.

Great summary of your passion !!

I'm glad to ear that, enjoy the Mad Rat, improve it etc.

Congrat also on your italian championship result ! Not bad at all, and as you say, practice is your friend !

I love too the big shot tires, and the groovy front.

I normally race outdoor since there are 4 nice race tracks just near my home town. If you'd like to find few pictures of the race you can go to photo-r.it or you can check my showroom at Tamiyaclub.com (search for Midnight Man even if pics are not updated). I've just bought two new cars: one will be a racer (X4 Pro) while the other one (Royal Flash, yellow body color) will be a basher. Any good advice? (for the X4 I've bought Kyosho Velvet Triple Cap shocks, Ansmann 8T brushless system and Proline Hole Shot front and rear tires)
