Unfortunately my friend, they're just standard Cobra spares.
The only bit that might blow my skirt up is the lexan undertray and that's about it.

Would this qualify for vintage as a rere or is it too different from the original?

Mid motor, not really a rere at all surely? Although externally, it looks like the same gearbox!

Taking my cobra racing this weekend, poor thing doesn't know whats coming.

I believe its going to be available mid and rear motor although I'm not sure if it can be used in vintage as a rere. Incidently, Mardave are selling the ball diff for the car already

Any further updates? Had a Cobra as a kid - would be great to have another one!

It should qualify, as long as it's rear motor. The only way a buggy can run mid motor is if the original buggy was made that way, even original mid motor conversions are banned. We tightened up the rules on this last year after some drivers, and Phil Barlow in particular, were starting to spend hundreds custom building mid motor conversions which bore little connection to the original car.

The chassis looks similar to the original so should be fine, especially as the gearbox is supposed to be compatible with the original chassis. We allow the Topcoat and XLS with the pro transmission upgrade, the upgraded Cobra gearbox is a lot nearer the original than Schumacher's upgrade is.

The Cobra would be in the 94-98 category, so it would be running with the Associated B3, Losi XX and Schumacher Cougar 2000.

The Cobra would actually be in the 89-93 class as it was released in 1992.

So racing against Rc10 teams, cougars etc.

Still no pre-order on the Mardave site. Very interested in this.. I really like my old cobra. Just releasing the new diff and idler is a bonus.

Price is on the website.

£240 a bit steep for me on a whim with another unbuilt VBC Firebolt DM2 siting in a box waiting for me to build, which only set me back ~£120 I think.

Will wait a bit but I do think it looks great!

Agree, looks expensive when you can spend a further £50 and get a B6.2 or Cougar LD...

Couple of mods I did many years ago to get the cobra gearbox reliable. Associated diff outdrives with the cobra main gear, modified idler with steel pin through the centre and bearings with the inner ring modified to fit the associated diff outdrives.

Rebuilding mine at the moment. Even painting a new body for it. Sorry about the rubbish pics. The light is crap in my flat. I am also having a new cobra when released. I know people have mixed feelings on the price and if I am honest it is higher than I expected..... however it does come with Schumacher shocks and a completely re designed ball diff and that's where some of the cost goes. Fair play to Chris though. Re doing this car and releasing it with the costs involved couldn't of been easy.

How much?!!!!!
I think there's a bit more "proven" machinery out there for that kind of money TBH.
