Default 2wd car design

Wouldn’t the cars handle better without a great lump of weight parallel with the front axles ?

Depends on where you're coming from. So long as the front axles are driven I'm perfectly happy with a lump of weight somewhere near the front of the car I will note it does work better with that lump of weight behind the front axles than in front of them!

That's a nice design of yours. Good job!
