Here's my 502X sporting the Upgrade set and quite few other bits from the TRF option bucket!

Yep, that's a winner - looks great.

But... are they Tamiya screws I see... If so I'd replace them ASAP (he says after drilling 14 out of a 501X chassis).

What do recommend as a replacement? And where from?

Just buy a good wrench (Tamiya 42146). The screws are fine.

BTW: The screws are changed after the release of the TRF501X, all TRF kits from the TRF501X WE have improved quality of screws.

I use Yeah Racing screws now (http://www.tqrcracing.com/shop/produ...&s_maker_id=59) but there are many other options.

Edit: I've had good results from these guys in the past as well: http://www.rcscrewz.com/ (502X set)

I'm not 100% in agreement with this. I agree they are improved but I don't consider them "fine". I have good tools, including hardened ball-end hexs and still find the Tamiya heads too soft. The old dark shiny ones from the 501X are simply terrible, the newer (less shiny, more copper colour) ones are not that much better IMHO. For the sake of 25 bucks I replace them all.

In my opinion, I consider the screws included in the original 502x kit very soft. I recommend to change them by titanium screws, no doubt

Yes, I'm in agreement. I've had to replace both front top shock mounting screws. Both bent and a hex head striped elsewhere.

I'll look into all the options provided thanks!

That's the main problem - especially through carbon or alu into alu.

If that's the case grab these as well: 54205 - Alu Damper Bushings

They'll help with the upper screws. Use proper 3mm lock nuts instead of the plastic ones as well. Tamiya items are 53022 (silver) or 54155 (blue) but of course you can use any brand.

NB: the bushings are threaded so remove the standard nut and replace it with an spacer!
