Default Deciding on a new ESC

Which is the best 1/10 brushless esc for around £100? I'm gonna be using it with a 6.5t brushless in a 2wd buggy. I'm toying with the sp reventon pro, but looking at toro's and hobbywing. I've been down the budget routes before with mixed success, speed passion gear has always been good though. Is there something else worth looking at?
Battery is an orion shorty 5400mAh 100c.

I picked up a used LRP Flow with a 6.5 LRP X20 motor for just over £100 to go in my 2wd.

Have to say so far it has been faultless and easy to set up.

I was initially looking at a new reventon pro combo but then again I don't mind buying second hand, though it was in very good condition.

Those are good escs you've listed, others worth considering and within your budget are:

LRP Flow £99.99 (onboard programming)
Vampire SR1+ £93.49 (onboard programming)
Absima CTS10 £89.99 (Requires programme card -combo £109.99)

All really good escs with solid back up

Default longer thread

Hi Minke,

I asked the exact same question last week. Theres a lengthy thread with lots of peoples views.

http://www.oople.com/forums/showthread.php?t=169209

have a look over it as it seems your in the same boat.

I opted for the Absima CTS10 from insideline as mentioned by kev above... speaking of which I think it should arrive today

Didn't see that one Stickygeko, thanks. I'll take a look at the vampire sr1+, not seen that one yet.
It also looks like size and/or height may possibly be an issue. Ive not got the budget for a slim servo and not going to shelf my savox 1258.

Was going to go into my cougar, an internal reshuffle is in progress and will be using a spectrum micro receiver.

I like the reventon pro it's got lots of punch and brakes (brakes set to 70% or wheels would lock up )and never let me down , I also tried the muchmore pro ( the one after the speed passion reventon Copy) it's a fast smooth esc

Only spot using about as went to gforce 160 a little more then u wanted to spend at £130 but also strong and good for space a power cap is inbuilt

+1 for the Reventon Pro. I was blown away by mine after I ran it for the first time on Sunday. Mighty impressive with an 8.5r.

I've just bought a Hobbywing V3.1 which I'll be fitting tomorrow night. First impression from taking it out of the box is that it's much smaller than the other speed controllers I've had and the wires come already soldered onto it I'll let you know how it goes once I've tried it on Friday night.

Just found a Nosram matrix evo istc in my old spares box. It works fine, just needs a new fan. Is it worth using this? I'm quite happy to splurge on the reventon pro (cant find a vampire in stock) but if the Nosram is still competitive, I can use that - hopefully with my almost new lrp 6.5T motor.

"Can't find a Vampire in stock", try looking at DMS Racing, they're showing very good stock of the SR1+ & a couple of the cheaper SR1.

That was one of the top esc at the time only thing u might loose out with having no boost/turbo but if it powers up try it for one meeting if it's to slow the go buy a new esc
