Tom Cockerill wins 2WD WRI 2011
Tom Cockerill took the overall TQ at the Winter Race Ireland 2011 - in the fastest-time-qualifying format he also won three out of four rounds. Irish racer Mark Penney took the opening leg of the A final with his C4.1 before Tom came back to win the next leg and it was between Mark and Tom for the last leg as both drivers had a 1-2. The drama was short lived however as Mark Penney crashed on the opening lap and never really got a look at Tom's car again as Tom sailed to another win and the overall victory. In the clubman class it was all about Sam Scott driving his C4.1 who dominated in the 10.5 brushless (no timing) class - winning the opening two legs of the A final for the overall victory. 4WD begins Sunday and we'll have it all in the report soon. http://www.oople.com/rc/photos/2011winter-race-ireland/
