Default Glitch? Help required...

Hi,

I'm just getting back into buggy racing after being away for a number of years.

I have a Centro C4.1 with a Speed Passion Revention ESC and motor. Everything has been fantastic and the car was running great but now it suddenly cuts out.

It happened a week or so ago and I put it down to cutting out due to being too hot.

The car is now doing it from the off. It's not over heating and is running well for a few laps and then repeatedly cuts out.

Any advice on what could be happening and how to rectify it?

Many Thanks in advance.

Mike

Have you tried fitting a new sensor lead? It's usually the first port of call for issues with cutting out/stuttering, besides checking that everything's soldered together fine.

Make sure the thermal cut out is disabled, speed passions are notorious for thermal cutting when there no were near the temp cut of point.

Thanks buggy#0 and fletcher.

I changed the motor sensor wire. Worked find for a bit then started cutting out again.

I believe the thermal cut off is off but will reset everthing to see if that works.

The motor sonsor wire that came with the speedo is very loose fitting. Got one with a TrackStar motor which fits better.

The cars been running fantastically but all of a sudden this has cropped up. Will try rewiring the motor up again to see how that works.

The troubles of buying second had cars and electronis - sometimes issues crop up

I have had the same issues with my SP equipment. What to do is update the firmware via your program card via a PC. Then connect this to your ESC and allow it to take.

It would appear that the software running the ESC is making it think it is running hotter than it actually is!!
