Default XB4 breakages

I know it's early days but as I've not run my XB4 yet, I'm looking to find out by those who have what the early signs of breakages are.

What's failing if anything?

Need some clues of what spares to hold.

Regards

Dave

Check RCTech.net, people also reported broken shocktowers and diff gears apart from broken bulkhead cases

Those breakage make me think twice, I'm looking forward to some friends feedback.

I'm a total expert at breaking cars at the rear inner links plate/tower.

On my first Vega I used only the lower outer hole on rear tower and broke some (bad landings among others). I used a two part epoxy (Araldite) and filled the others holes with it and never broke any at this spot again.

Sanding carbon edges helps too as a rounded edge have less chance of getting caught on the astro/carpet, etc. Gluing the edge is nice too but very time consuming.

How heavy have the crashes been and how easy are spares to get
Is there a large stock of bulkheads or even an upgrade available I need a tough car to cope with me
This seems its weak point
How much Is a bulkhead to?

I'm not a huge car breaker so fingers crossed it'll be fine. I've ordered up some spares so should be fine.

X2 Front bulkhead done today

But in fairness it had a few hard hits today, which don't think many cars would have come away with out some damage. It still works fine-cracked slight bit of movement.. but car drives ok. Once I take bulkhead apart it will not be usable.

Anyone got any ideas on any temp fixes.. heard of people in the U.S. trying JBWeld.. and so on.. any idea fellas?

epoxy metal putty moulded round and left to set will hold it
this stuff is awsome you can reinforce bits prior to breaking and even tap threads into it

looking forward to getting this car but its always a good idea to no what spares might be needed

I've done a couple of meetings now with the xb4 and it's been great, no problems at all.

I've done some practice and a meeting with mine without a hitch. Only probs with mine were setup errors but got those sorted now I think. I'm concerned by these issues but mines been bullet proof so far. Time will tell and I'm sure Xray will address any real issues. For now I have a substantial spares order in and some steel diff gears coming just in case. I think it's a great car.

I've ordered quite a few spares. Gearbox casings, wishbones, gears etc.

Won't get to try mine til Chadderton the 13th but can't wait to try it.

No probs with mine today either.

As I'm an awesome driver - I didn't really crash it much - or hard.

A Marshall had an awkward moment with it though and flung it across the hall by accident - nothing broke.

Happy with car - although kit damping is way too hard and the car needs more high speed steering IMO - although I know not how to achieve this!
