The B4 tower idea was mine. I'm proud to say it was the genesis of the design of the new X-Factory tower. I did it for a couple reasons. One was so I could have more tuning options. We (my son Alex is the racer) could run either a T4 tower which was equivalent to the X-6 tower with regard to upper shock hole positions, or the B4 tower which was narrower. Here is a pic of the B4 tower on Alex's X-6.

We then went to a carbon tower that was much narrower than even the B4 tower. Handling for our track got even better.

The week we had it finished, we met up with Kinwald and found that the inner holes on his carbon tower were the same as ours. Great minds think alike, I guess.

Here is a progression of my tower widths. The top is the factory tower. Second down is the B4 tower, and third down is my new carbon tower.

The difference in the stock tower vs the B4 tower is actually a little more than it looks in the pic.

It is fun playing with new designs and seeing how they work

Chris

I dont have any pics yet Dan.

I collected the car on friday night, stayed up till 3am building it, ran it in practice, made a few changes and was 12th in rd 1 i was well chuffed with it, but i seemed to get nailed in every run by backmarkers as i was in the bottom F2 heat, i got knocked out of the B in rd4 and ended up C1, and on the virtually undriveable back section of the track a drive shaft popped out in the final, but overall i was very happy with the car, its so much more consistant than the B4

does any one have a part no for the Bk2 axles? are they a straight bolt on to the b4 drive shafts? or do you use the whole losi drive shaft??

This is a Losi part no. rather than a MIP.

A9986 - CVD Rear Axle (.200 Offset)

Think they come as individual items, so you'll need two. They are a straight swap for the standard B4 axles you have.

i no it's easier to get bk2 axles but you dont actually need them. i just space my b4 axles out with the axle spacers so they dont fall out.

By spacing you std B4 axles, I assume you've moved the axle shim from the outside, to the inner??

If thats the case then you could well have changed the track width of the car. But more importantly your rear wheels could be binding on the rear hub and bearing.

Just have a double check...

The BK2 axles are the best way to go as they increase the driveshaft length by a good amount.

and unless you use a shock spacer inside the shock it still falls out. i tried it
better of just getting the right axles

ive removed the big spacer between the hub and the drive pin, and put spacers on both sides. i have carefully done it so there are enough spacers so that the drive shaft easily stays in the outdrive even without any shock limiters and so that my wheels are not binding on the hub or bearing. i did this because i couldnt find bk2 axles after looking around alot, and have had no problems since so havnt bothered with getting the axles

the car was really good once i stopped the driveshaft popping out. i got knocked out the a on fastest time in rd4 i was gutted but went on to win the b by 9 secs and a time which would of put me 3rd overall
It was just too easy to drive.
i also have a set of losi shocks to put on it but the AE ones seem pretty good at the moment.
But i am really struggling to find some Bk2 akles
