Default Radar Guns

Just a quick question, do traffic cops stood on a slip road with a gun take pics of your car or will they stop you there and then? i was in the outside lane of the m11. doing about 80ish. Dont bother lecturing me about speeding either!

Yer, if it's white caps with a gun they would normaly pull you, or their mates in the next layby would anyway...don't think you need worry, as has been said on a M road 80's not that fast, they normaly won't bother with doing the paper work for anything under 90

I had a copper in a layby get me with a speed gun, nobody stopped me but I received the fine in the post 3-4 weeks later, and had points put on my driving license automatically,

Teach me to hurry up when I'm late for a race meet,

Hope you get away wiv it,

If you were doing 80-82ish on your clock then true speed would be about 75mph and some forces give you 10%+2mph so you should be ok. Dont know how many people notice when you have a sat nav on which is calibrated to millionths of a second, the speed on that is slower than your car reading. In mine 70mph on the sat nav is about 75 on my clock.

If doing 80 on a nice clear day with not a lot of people about then you`d prob be ok. But if its chucking it down then they`d ave you right away for being a complete muppet. Its more about driving conditions than overall speed. I`ve overtaken police on motorways before whilst doing 80 with no probs, but its usually lovely and dry at the time.

80ish? So that sounds more likely you was doing a little more that 80, a spanking might be on the cards

Dont most forces give you the option of the points and a fine, or the fine and a day at the naughty boys driving school now.
