Default KF Ball Diff

Just had a bonus find in my box of bits, cane across the diff out my old mi2-ec which turns out to be a perfect fit in the KF.

I have been thinking about trying a ball diff in my KF, does it offer much advantage over a gear diff? I like the ease of maintenance on a gear diff.

The only issue with the Mi2 EC diff is that it will have alloy outdrives. I'd expect it to last at least a few laps in a KF before the driveshaft wedges itself through the coating!

do the SX3 diffs have the right offset on them or does it leave the belt at an angle?

Yea your'e probably right but they're sitting in my box not doing a lot so I'm going to give it a race or 2 with it to see how I get on and then look into getting something a bit more permanent rather than splashing out on something that turns out not to suit

the SX3 diff cups are the same as the kf/k1 but you need to use the kf/k1 diff pulley to get the correct offset for the belt

At the kampenhout GP I went from a gear diff to a K1 ball diff and it accelerated and braked much better in the WET and I went 15 seconds faster with the ball diff
