Default HELP Turnigy Trackstar GenII 120A 1:10

Hi please forgive me before I come across a numpty , This may be easy to sort out

iv bought a roller tm2 v1 that came with a free Turnigy Trackstar GenII 120a speedo and motor, as wasn't sure if was working

now I am new to all this so a friend has put the motor on his esc and it works fine

now the speedo red light comes on my hand set has been bind to the receiver and I have full motion in regards to the steering

with out the hand set switched on the I connect the battery, speedo comes on solid re light with a one bleep / noise

Soon as I switch my handset on the red light on the speedo keeps flashing and beeping, I if I put on the throttle it does nothing just keeps beeping until I unplug

has or does anyone know what I need to do or could this be broken ?

I just want to buy a new one if this just needs setting up

thanks again steve

Have you calibrated the rx/tx/ESC properly?
If the ESC isn't getting a neutral signal it'll be all over the place with beeps and flashes.

Have a Google for the manual. It'll be on the hobbyking.com site somewhere.
Check that it's the right one (there are lots of trackstar ESCs about)
Then read it. There will be a sequence of button pushes and trigger movements to get full forwards, full reverse and neutral positions set.
Much like the programming of the B4.2 ESC you were having issues with. Have you fixed that yet?

I had to servo reverse the throttle on my transmitter to get mine working. This is quite a common problem with certain esc and radio combinations.

Sorry to hijack this thread but I'm having similar problems. I bought 2 of these off here and have found that they work fine with my sons etronix 2.4g receiver (I can go through the procedure at 3.20 in the YouTube vid) but with my Frsky 2.4g system it is acting as though it is not connected to the receiver The receiver is not duff as it works fine with other esc's so I'm a little stumped.

Quick update!

Having researched on some other forums it appears this esc has quite a narrow band when it searches for neutral on calibration. If the neutral on the transmitter isn't in the right place it won't find it and won't calibrate. Basically I've just had a play with the sub trim setting on my tranny and now it has found neutral and completed the calibration procedure. It works!
