Default How are people getting on with the TM4

Not a lot of action here on the forum so thought Id ask.

How are people getting on with it?
New tips and setup advice?
Any DIY things made?
Any new things on the way?

Default TM4

I love mine. Use it indoors on carpet and outdoors on astro. I prefer it without the centre diff and use the slipper.
I have tried the Hupo carbon chassis but have gone back too the alloy chassis.
The best things are custom cut top decks (make my own) and a Gecko spine weight.
Just need more track time as I get rusty between each meeting.

The TM4 is a superb car in standard kit spec.
With Gecko spine weight, ILR rear gearbox raiser and alloy steering rack its got to be one of the best 4wd cars out there.
I've found the centre diff with 300k oil to be very good. Maybe not as sharp as the slipper under power, but the handling benefits on med - low grip surfaces are noticeable.

Hi, we stock the spine weights from gecko also if it's easier

http://insidelineracing.co.uk/inside...&view=category

As already stated, the TM4 is awesome out of the box. One other thing that is worth considering though to stiffen up the steering assembly is the alloy steering plate.

No worries Kev - forgot InsideLineRacing did the weight - that'll save on postage

I've be racing one indoors on carpet for almost a year. great car out of the box, however I do seem to get quite a lot of wear on the rear most centre output shaft, I am considering replacing with the puck drive system. If anyone has tried this on the tm4 please let me know how you get on with it. Now about to build another so I have one set up for indoor and one for astro outside. Overall really happy with quality, spares prices and availability. May go with centre diff on next one any feedback is appreciated.

Default Puck drive

I've just had Clive C-Drive do my centre and rear driveshafts on my TM2V2 (same rear end as my TM4) and I'm very happy indeed with the outcome. Makes the drive train very smooth with no slop. Makes an already smooth and quiet car even better. Will be getting my TM4 done when I notice the wear getting too bad.

Agree with all the posts on here. I love my TM4! The build quality is excellent and the front steering assembly is nice and tight with no slop.

Plenty of room for the electrics and a great drive out of the box.

I have the alloy steering rack and will be shortly adding the alloy steering knuckles

Picked mine up from a mate tonight
I have the absima esc in there as well but no program box. Anyone know if O can button press the settings or is the box a must?

If so anyone got a spare to sell?

Whats a good starting point with stock spur and a absima 7.5?

Is the XB4 steering the same fit as the Team C one?

Is the center weight for stability as well as weight? Could I just add sticky weights to the middle?

Can I just add spacers under the gearbox instead of the whole shim?

Thanks

Not sure on the setting box but think it can't be programmed without it.
Yes the Xray steering link fits.
The weight is for the weight and a centre spine stiffener.
Yes you could used washers or something else under the gearbox but it would be a real hassle and not support the gearbox as well as the spacer.
I'd highly recommend the real items and I have no involvement with any shop so am not biased. But the inside line gearbox spacer is a work of art and perfect.

Drove it tonight with the setup that was already on it.
AFAIK 7K 7K
2.0 AB front 1.2 rear
Slipper
I'll get back with the rest

Drove nice and easy, I'd like a little more I it'll steering and the rear would step out a little on power in the 180, but I had new rear slicks and the track was a little cold. Rear got better when the tires started to come in but would squat down with heavy out of corner power.

7.5 with a 20 pinion

I won't do a lot with it just now for an indoors setup as we are soon moving out and the track is closing.

The TM4 uses the same rear end as the TM2v2 but I have to put a slimmed down C-Drive on the rear slipper outdrive of the TM4 because otherwise it would chew lumps out of the Lipo.

Yesterday, April the 5th, I raced my TM4 outdoors at TORCH in England. This is an all astro turf track. It's the first time outdoors this season. And the first time with the rear shocks on the rear of the tower. It was fantastic! The car was so much more stable and consistent. There was no loss of steering and an overall increase in stability and predictability. I highly recommend to all the Team C family to give it a try!! I will never be putting it back to shocks on the front!!!

Cheers DC
What are you doing to achieve this?
Reversing the rear arms?
Drilling new holse in the rear of the arm?
Placing the tower on the rear of the bulkhead?
Or just placing the shocks on the rear?
