Default RB6 shell alternative?

Hi all. I'm not a fan of the kit shell on the RB6. I was wondering if anyone knew or has heard anything about other manufacturers making an alternative which isn't so ugly? Love the car but not the shell. Ta.

I'm hoping to make the RB6 she'll fit my Centro. I think it's the best looking shell out there!!!

That doesn't necessarily make it the best shell for all drivers at all tracks in all conditions though

I agree that it isn't the prettiest although I am starting to warm to it (only a little) and would really like to see a not quite so tall alternative

It's the first cab forward shell that I quite like actually! Ah well...

I'd take a look at shells from or compatible for:

- Centro
- Vega
- DEX410

You could also (probably) make other shells fit if you fill up the sidepods with foam or something - or perhaps a home-made undertray-like piece. If that doesn't work for you, then waiting for an aftermarket shell might be the best thing

Maybe it'll grow on me. I think it's just because the cab is very tall. All the proline bulldog shells seem more subtle in thier cab shape. Tbh it's only a small complaint on an otherwise lovely car. Kyosho traditionally have always made some of the prettiest shells. Maybe when my second shell comes and I get my colours onto it ill change my mind.

I expect it won't be long until Proline or JConcepts do something, but I expect it'll be cab forward etc.

EDIT: Sorry, just found out it's an RB5 (didn't look well at the front shock tower). Old post:

Check this out:

On this car I think the cab doesn't look as big as on the show model:

In fact to me it looks like the RB6 I snapped has a different body altogether?

------------------------- End of old post

Perhaps you could still try out an RB5 or RB5 cab forward shell? And, how about making the windows smaller on the car? It might visually reduce the side of the cab. Also, on other pictures than the release pictures (side views) I noticed how big the cab indeed is! I will tune down my opinion about the RB6 shell a bit now - I still really like how there's not too much going on in it's shapes though!

I dont think 99% of drivers would notice much of a handling improvement/difference from one shell to the next.... me included.

Default It's not all that bad...

Hiya folks,

Just finished my RB6 build. I was horrified by the bodyshell initially.

It seemed to look alright once mounted on the buggy.

Having said that, I'd really prefer a low and "sleek" shell like the ZX5 FS2 "SHOOT" bodyshell.

Which body are you referring to from JC for the 22? since the Punisher "does" have the cut lines for both mid and rear motor options, but the Finnisher only has cut lines for the rear motor, although to clarify, none of their bodies are "precut" so you are able to cut them both to suit your motor position.

I am just waiitng for an email back form Jason at JConcpets to confirm what cut lines are on this RB6 version, as soon as hear back I will post up the info.
