Default Future racing?

Considering progress at the track has ground to a halt, are there any plans to organise racing in the meantime? Or is racing stopped altogether at bury until completion?

Default We have the power.

I've taken the plunge and spent your money on a generator.
So, where do you want to race ?

Crank the mower up at goshen, give the nearby grass a close cut then get all the gear out.

Grass track racing!!!

Lets do it.

Any spare corner at Goshen, slap down some of the firehose we use indoors and we can play. If anyone has a gazebo that would be a good idea for race control, and we may need to improvise a rostrum as I'd rather not faff around with the indoor one but it doesn't need to be very high.

The corner by the car park entrance is a good position, no need for a rostrum - stand high on the banking for a descent view?

Any idea when the new track will be finished? Is it totally funded by Bury Council?

Technically the new track should have been completed 2-3 weeks ago!

However, its a council contract, and its now overdue, which means whatever penalty clause was in the contract has already been applied. And that ironically means the contractor is no longer under any pressure to complete the job promptly. It now makes no difference if its next week, next month or maybe even next year as to what they'll get paid, so they have no doubt shifted their efforts to more pressing jobs.

All this means we might be waiting a while now......

But that just means grass track racing makes sense. We missed some great weather this weekend and it seems a shame to keep doing that whilst we wait.

That's a great idea but the cycle track/path runs close to that so may be a problem with people walking past.

There is a path but I think there is enough room, go and check it out if its not too far out of your way. Or.... check it on googleearth perhaps? Hopefully it'll mean the club continues
