Default Back to the begining

Something I've been meaning to do for a while, put together my original X6. Whilst not the first (Hodapp's magnesium chassis was first) but was one of the first 4 moulded cars.

It's got various bits that were revised ahead of production, and others that we initially had in a variety of composites and straight nylon. We also didn't get the X6 wing until later on.

It's not tuely original as it's got one of the 5 (?) CNC machined 4 gear gearboxes that each of the team had and made such a difference they become productions as fast as possible. These cost a fortune really but really proved the concept.

Rest of the car's pretty standard conversion from a B4 really. Initial pictures Jimmy took the week (and 1 day) before Batley national.

I'm loving it, Dan! I see it's your 2007 Euros chassis and it's got the hole in it you Boyz made to cool the motor with the 3-gear.

We've still got most of the old parts in stock. It's cool you've got an original molded shock tower.

That's quite the paint job!

Can you do this with an original X - 5? Perhaps the first one you ever had back in (How can it be this long ago?) '05. You could become the Official X Factory Historian.

G you're right of course, i forgot that but am going to leave it like with X6 ones as not got any spare Losi mounts.

I also have that battery strap Roger Wood made for use somewhere but will have to give it a dose of looking for.

Cable ties are becasue I don't have a spare servo saver so the steering rack is loose otherwise, I'll finish that off soon though as this is shelf bound it doesn't really matter.
