Receiver to go with Futaba 3GR
Have just got a 4wd which I would like to run using my Futaba 3GR which I use for my KF. Any recommendations of cheap and small receivers that bind with a 3gr to save me buying the expensive Futaba receiver. I have heard that the Hpi rf-11 works and the FrSky TFR4?
Thanks all. |

I use frsky tfr4 receivers with its big brother ie 3vcs in 12th scale with
aerials coiled and taped to receiver case had no problems tried 2 different servo 2 different speedos no problems got futaba 603fs used to set up then changed to frsky used since and 12th scale last thing you need is a wandering receiver |

IF your 3GR is on the FASST system then I'm with Chevy - FRSky TFR4 receivers are indistinguishable from the Futaba ones. I get them from here...

Receivers
Thanks for the replies guys. Just to be clear you don't bother running the two aerials up a tube haut coiled and inside the body? Thanks.

They are designed to be set out at 90deg to each other. I run one up the rollover mast and one across the servo parallel to the ground in my 12th scale. Like Chevy, no issues.
I've seen both run vertical, both run horizontal and even with one removed from the receiver - only one aerial in use. At the range we have it doesn't seem to make any difference. For guaranteed performance, one vertical, one horizontal. HTH |
