team c gear diff in 502
hello.just wanted to share my little experiment with team c gear diffs to 502.
these i did buy http://teamcracing.net/index.php?pag...mart&Itemid=71[url= for my surprize they did fit quite nice.no big modification isnt needed for gear boxes.only thing what i did have to do was shorten diff out drives about 2 millimeters.and did replace those team c swing shafts to 502 swing shafts.they did fit perfectly to team c propeller shafts. gear diff didnt need much shimming.propeller shaft did needed about 3 mm. i dont know has anyone else try this but here is one pic from it. |

well first testing is done.nothing broken .they were for my surprize not loud.same noise as ball diffs.guess i did get gear mesh right.i did use 12500 oil front and 3000 rear.because they are only 4 gear diffs,i dont know should i try little heavier oils.but maybe it was little better to drive than ball diffs.

Cheers m8, i do't know much about gear diffs but my son's running 7000 in the rear of his Durango and 12000 in the front. I know different car but maybe worth trying.
Scotty.... ps thanx again for the info, much appreciated.Seriously tempted to try this in my 502.

12K in the rear and 7K in the front?
I think thats a little heavy and the wrong way round (but I might be wrong) 5K rear and 10K front is what most run I think. |

Lol I did have them round the wrong way. Just based it on what the Durango drivers at the club are using. So glad I've got someone to come on here and keep me right lol. Tablets are wasting my head lol.

Very very interesting!
Could you provide us more details about where you bought this item? I jump from website to website and I can't find this part! I would be very interested to make this transformation myself... |

its not as simple as it sounds you need to dremel the inner rib of the gear boxes and the drive shafts have way too much slop theteam c diff outdrives use 2.5mm dog bone pins and tamiya uses 2.0mm you also need to hone the inner of the out drive to get full up travel with tamiya drive shafts.
you can fit team c drive shafts but you would need the hex pins and the wheels to fit. stu |

Did you go through all these modifications? Could you post some photos of the hardware you have to modify to make it fit?
It would be super nice... Thx. |
