Should fit, however, the spur gear will be exposed. You may also want to try an sv2 motor plate and gear cover.

Yup, the std SV2 and the SV2 cab forward should both be fine (I have cab forward currently on my SV).

You'd be best off getting the SV2 motor plate and gear cover so your spur gear is covered.

You will just need to trim a touch more off from the front of the shell (assuming your SV has std length chassis), as obviously the SV2 is 8mm longer and hence the shell is also.
