Thanks Paul.

I just booked in via the club's site. I'll confirm the personal transponders ASAP.

Looking forward to a bit of international feel at the event. There are various hotels near by. The track is a stone throw from the f1 circuit.
I am really excited and also looking forward to race with you guys. Hope the competition is fare and tight .

Has anyone tried the core rc inserts in minipins?

Hi Cham, I'm sorry nobody has replied to you yet. I think everyone is far to busy reading the body shell wars
I personally choose the tyre I run based on if the track has more slippery corners than carpet ones because (for me) spikes are better on slipy and pins on carpet. You have people like mr Martin though who only run pins and mr Springer who only runs spikes regardless of surface and they run the same car. The durango tyre is a great alrounder option too!!
Hope this helps and I look forward to welcoming you next week.
Matt

PS The racing is extremely fair and tight unless Lee decides to race 4wd

Thanks for the response Matt. I'll be limited to 20kgs and space, therefore I'll just bring a set or 2 or old minipins. I didn't know Team Durango made tires! Must be a product only introduced in the UK.

Are you implying that racing is not fair and tight if Lee races 4wd? (I thought he moved to the US?)

I also look forward to meeting you.

Cheers,
Cham

P.S can anyone give me advice on traveling by plane with R/C equipment? May I take the radio in my hand luguage?

Hi Cham, the racing is fair but not so tight as he can be quite a way ahead He still lives here but travels everywhere I believe.

Durango make 2 different type of tyre and I will biring some for you to look at and try if you'd like. What buggy wheel fittings do you use?

I will ask someone who is more likely to know about radio question to post asap.

Matt

Cham,

What 2wd are you running? If it's a Cougar I can help with spares so you could leave yours at home.

Cheers,
James.

Wow he is that good! lol.. Would love to see him in action!

I run:

4x4 - DEX410
4x2 - TRF201

Are the Durango tires on their website? Do you have a link?

Not that I am planning to break anything, but would I be able to purchase parts at the race for my two cars? Or should I bring a bunch of spares?

Thx,
Cham

Cham you will probably not be able to purchase any spares for either of your cars at the venue so I would bring a selection of spares with you. Saying that, if anyone racing has a part that you don't carry then most would be willing to help out if need be.

I have carried my radio (steerwheel) and both cars in my hand luggage several times when racing abroad and it normally is not a problem. My advice to you would be to ask at check-in BEFORE you part with your main luggage just in case they ask you to put the radio in there. Be prepared to take everything out though as they normally spot the gear on the scanner and ask you to empty out your bag to check it, which is always fun

MA have stumped up yet more cash!! They have purchased more carpet and better track marking for round 4 of the SRCMCC, KYOSHO winter series.
Don't worry though, the track will still be multi surface, however, it give us more options and possibly a bigger track if that's possible!

I'm sure the number of entrants will be 'up' to the level of the last meeting by the end of the week.... what I find daunting looking down that list is just the sheer quality of the drivers that have booked in so far (I feel somewhat out classed seeing my name up there amongst them )
