Default TLR 22-4 Discussion

Few questions for 22-4 owners.

What screw kits do you run? Are RCScrews ok?

Does anyone run the rear skid plates?

What turnbuckle ball cups do you use?

What grease do you run in your diffs?

1. Kits screws (see no reason to change)
2. Not really sure why you would need this
3. I hated the kit HD ones so I run original 22 turnbuckes and ball cups
4. I use kit grease with ceramic balls and thrust balls

Have a look at this link if you haven't seen it. It basically sums up all the changes I have made throughout the year. The only thing I am yet to try is the cab forward shell (I have one sprayed up ready to go ) The shorty conversion just transforms the car and I can't overstate how good it is now. Using the 22 rear hubs widens the car and greatly helps balance as does switching the rear arms and running the shocks in the front of the car.

1. Kit screws so far, but will get the Hiro Seiko lightweight set when it's out to drop a few more grams.

2. No skid block, just a RCS GraphicWorkz chassis skin.

3. Lunsford turnbuckles and ball cups, the kit ones don't have a hole in them so you have to pop them off every time you want to change something, which is bad.

4. Hiro Seiko diff grease & Tuning Haus thrust grease.

Thanks for the replies. A few of my screws have got surface rust over them which is why I was looking at other ones.
Reason I was looking at rear skids plates as rear pivot block has been grinded down a bit. I don't run any chassis protector.

Thumbs up

Don't get stainless steel screws. The metal is much softer that most stock screws meaning that they are much easier to strip so I stay well clear. I now use 10.9 steel, super cheap off eBay and you get them in packs of 10+ so you'll have spares.
