Default Let's have some fun

What do you reckon?

I was thinking, (dangerous I know) for a bit of a laugh would anyone be interested in running these as a class?

http://www.hobbyking.co.uk/hobbyking/store/__18766__1_16_Brushless_4WD_Mini_Rally_Car.html

The cars are £40 with a lipo and I bet if we order in bulk we could get a discount or free delivery.

In the class car must be remain stock (so no fiddling ) and run as a Bangers, so as the name suggests it is a full contact, crashing formula.

Yes, I said “banger”

Your thoughts ?????????

Like your idea muz but looking at the reviews on h-king its not that hot a deal could we all be buying an almost disposable car especially if your thinking along the banger route , reading the reviews I think you would be better buying some cotton wool rather than a bag of spares but like I said good idea and im always up for trying some thing new (what about doing a heat for say cars 10 years + in age with brushed motors and NiCad packs) just another idea if like me you may already own the kit there is no outlay

Spare parts are cheap as chips.....a pair of front or rear wishbones are about 60p....gearbox assembly is less than £6! The only part i cannot see listed is a new bodyshell.
They work with your own radio as long as you have a micro receiver as space is limited.
Muzz, is there much difference between the standard car (green and black) and the extreme version (orange and black) apart from a few pounds cost and will both be eligible for our banger racing or just one?

With an order this size you'll get stung for VAT and handling charges.

That'll push the price up to £60+ per car.

Tony, the orange one is a ready to run so you're paying for the radio gear you'll never use. The car is the same.

If the rally car is anything like the 1/16 beetle monster truck thing then they are very weak and not up to the job of full contact racing. The body shells aren't lexan, they are pre-printed pvc. They don't crack, they shatter!

If you plan on using the ramps then ground clearance will be a huge issue. I can't imagine much more that 20mm with full pre-load (no droop).

What about running proper banger cars like this?

http://www.mardave.co.uk/rc-car-kits...duct-1729.html

A small section of the track could easily be made into an oval, incorporating the timing loop.

If you want to incorporate the ramps then these would make an awesome class!

If your gonna go banger racing, I vote for Mini Stox, they're built for the job and are cheap to buy and run. Ahh anyone remember the 80's

What do you think, this is the best deal I've got.

try this http://www.mardave.co.uk/rc-car-kits/oval-kits/v12-standard-kit-no-speed-controler-1696.html is

Mardave can supply this kit with a banger shell and give us 20% off if we order 8 kits.
