Default York Regional Track

With a lot of debate and discussion going on about the National track at the weekend (and tracks in general), I thought now would be a good time to ask what people wanted to see for the Tracks at York.

Serious suggestions only please!

G

Just been out to the woods with the Truggy, and after that experience I'd like to see some 20ft deep bomb holes linked in a line, so we can jump in / out all round the track..

A bit off the topic, but we are thinking about bringing the caravans down this year if its ok? Are the toilets open all weekend, is there somewhere for water or should we fill the water carriers before coming down and what time can we arrive on friday??

I know to many questions!!

If the tracks anything like last year it'll be great, liked the table top a Castle howard as well!!

We usually build the track from about 10am onwards on the Friday so I don't see any reason why you couldn't bring your caravan any time after that. You can also help with the track building!

Not sure about the other questions, I'll email Phil and ask him for you.

Cheers,

G

G, back on topic.
2wd, open and flowing.
4wd needs to be a ducks arse, tight & small(er).
The grass needs to be cropped as tight as Mr W's head.
Jumps, as many as possible yeah, but, its difficult when you only have a finite (good word eh!) ammount of stuff & time.

I think we are building the track round the corner near where the toilets are. This is where we ran one year when the other bit was flooded. This is to try and cure the strange interferance problems that we always seem to get.

The only problem with this is that I don't think we'll be able to dig any areas as we may have to build the track fully on the football field. If we can find and area that is not football field then there might be a chance, but don't quote me on that.

We'll do what we can to stop it being all flat and boring. I personally like the staggered jumps we used a couple of times as it was, a) a challange and b) there was more than one line. We had some complaints at the time, but I think people would prefer that to another bit of flat track at the moment.

I'll see what I can do, please feel free to post further ideas or suggestions peeps, hell, even critisism!

Cheers,

G (sensible head on)

Since the York track is notorious for glitching and interference, I’d be happy within an oval high speed track with non of the above!!!!
Might also be a very good idea not to put the race control interference inducing caravan half way down the straight in front of the rostrum!!!

Anything other than flat out chicanes connected by hairpins would be good

If it's going to be hot it would be a good idea to avoid long sweeping corners for 4wd to keep everyones motors soldered into the car

Those little sleeping policemen we had last time were good (with a bit of wood embedded into the ground, weren't they Vermin's creation?), bombholes would be ace too. The corner table we had last year was good, how about having it coming onto the straight like the Losi race in the US this year? It might be a bit far away to get right if the straight is at the back as usual, so how about having the straight in front of the rostrum. There'd have to be a bit more of a gap between the rostrum and the track though so you don't get people leanding forward on the rostrum.

Reply from Phil:

Toilets open all weekend, yeah there's water - from wash basin though, will need a pipe to fill container.

Hope that helps,

G

Thanks for the info, we're setting off at 10ish, so should be there by 11. Unless we get lost again, like we did on the way to castle howard and tried to take the caravan up sutton bank, got half way up and had to do a million point turn!!

According to a discussion on RcChat its 2wd saturday.
