Default round 2 at Caldi

Thought id post this as a thread instead of a PM to Pet and crew, that way every one will know the score once some one from the club has replied and confirmed .

What time will doors be opening?

Are there mains power points available?

Will you be using the whole hall for the track?

where are we pitting?, If no to the question above are we able to pit next to the track

will there be the magic penny hotdogs and other good food?

What type of surface are we running on...mixed all carpet? flat ,jumps??

and my last question what type of rostrum are you using.

Its been a while so id like some clarification on the above.

Blimey Chris, what a lot of questions!
Some of them are in the process of being answered so will update this thread as soon as I have them.

There is mains power, but bring an extension lead as you may not be able to pit right next to the socket!

There will be some pitting in the same hall as the track, other pitting available just outside in one of the other rooms.

Talking of pitting, please bring your own tables and chairs.

Track design not finalised yet but should be multi-surface. Tyres most commonly used at club are Schumacher yellow mini-pins & mini-spikes.

More details to follow

We haven't thought about a precise timetable yet, and will confirm after Friday night when we'll put the final plan in place!

As a guess, I'd imagine it will be about 9am start...though we will confirm this nearer the time. Format is 1 practice round, 4 qualifiers and 1 final, as per WRCA 2011 rules.

Our usual multi-surface (mixture of carpet, polish and wood), multi-level offroad track will already be laid by then, and if the hangover from my work xmas do doesn't get the better of me the day before, we should have a new rostrum built for it too. Much the same as the current wooden blocks one, but a little higher and longer to better suit the micro national venue spec that we're prepping for in January.

We've had to give the hot food a miss this year I'm affraid, mainly due to lack of someone to cook and serve it, but we will have the usual range of snacks and drinks available.

And since it's practically christmas...and our Christamas bash...there will be some Christmas cheer, prizes and stuff to celebrate that on the day!

If your not already...get booked in people...it all helps us get racing quicker on the day!

Update:
Doors will open at 8am with Practice starting at 9am. Can't tell you what time we will aim to be finished by as that will depend on entries.

Talking of which, anyone entering after 16th December will be added to one of the lower heats.
As happened at Swansea, subject to numbers, we will be running a 'junior' heat (for those who have recently started out). Let me know if you want to run in that when entering.

Entry fees
Senior - £7 first class £3 for second class entered
Junior (Under 16's) - £3 per class

juniors up to the age of 14 race for free in any wrca round as long as they have full paying parent with them.
If not 1/2 price, and between the age of 14-16, or in full time education pay 1/2 price.

this did get voted in at the WRCA AGM

Well I have to admit that I got the prices off the Cobra forum, as the WRCA haven't told anyone what they are, so I didn't know the detail about the under 14's, under 16s, etc.

Only a handful of entries are doing 2 classes Steve.

But come on everyone get your entries in!

We will have to get clarification from "H" but as Steve has said there was a vote on 14year olds, but it had already been voted 15 to 9 that the junior age was under 16 so in normal circumstances that should stand.

If the 14 year limit was prefered it should have been voted as an amendment first.

The plot thickens

Are there any minutes from your meetings?

I had a look on the WRCA site but most of it seems to be from 2008? lol

I wanna know what your rules state about people in full time education (other than that we are lazy tax dodgers!)
