Thanks Chris. A hard meeting today due to a couple of technical issues behind the scenes. Just thankful my Durango was ok, gutted silly mistakes cost me a 10 lapper. So I expect to see you at the front with the durango, particularly as oils diff are 2nd nature for you gas boys. I am still a bit WTF with them and at times want a ball diff back!

Roll on the summer series and a few other things I am looking at.

Track work next weekend, so scratch the current best times !!

Great day, thanks guys.

You drove well today Mikey, my setup tips must have worked! I seemed to be quick, but couldn't string it all together for more than the one run! very pleased with the 10 lapper.

Loving the racing today, I think we're the grip had come right up the extra speed was making consistent runs a real challenge (as it should be!). The Ansmann was going well, specially once Cammers pointed me at a better tyre choice. Think I need a lower turn motor if I run it over the summer, the 8.5 is getting dragged on the straights.

Had a play with the 'Rango after the racing and it's an awesome bit of kit. Need to open the holes up in the shocks a little, and the mini-pins were grip-roll-tastic but putting that aside it's easy to tell how good it is to drive.

Top job to all involved in running the meeting, much appreciated guys.

What motor, ESP,charger, radio gear and car to buy I am a bit tight so I want to do this on a buget? £200
would it be best to buy second hand? Or new?

I'll be tough getting racing with £200, for that money I'd look at the Team Associated B4, very reliable car (if maintained like any car). Electrics I'd always recommend Speed Passion ESC & motor. Core RC balance charger.

It'll be 2nd hand and for reducing costs I'd go with 2WD. Plenty of good stuff on the for sale section here on Oople. If you are really really on a tight budget maybe a brushed set-up. Certainly more maintenance, but cheaper etc. SteveB looks after a number of members brushed motors for a fee.

I know also a number of racers are racing the Annsman Madrat, but I can't comment really about the car having never owned or raced one. My vote would be Associated B4.

Great day today, very relaxed, and the sunshine was out too . Didn't do aswell as I was hoping but did ok considering I've not driven since 2nd January. A proper close battle between myself and Lee Davies resulting in me losing out on 3rd by 4/100s of a second.

Top mornings racing guys. Thumbs up.

Hello,

I reckon you would get a cheap brushed set up for around the £200 mark, just need to bear in mind, how good your are and are you planning to race long term, as saving a little longer, is well worth waiting for brushless and lipos, pick up a cheap car anywhere not the issue, the electrics do the damage

Put up a wanted request on Oople and see what comes your way.

Best of luck getting some equipment, any advice just ask or PM is best.

Thanks Steve

A great meeting considering the amount of people racing than usual, the running of the meetings becomes allot more demanding trying to keep everyone on happy, but I think most had a cracking day and its great when the Sun shines

Nice to see more new faces at the club today, some really close racing with the 4WD B final being an excellent close race, with Mr Hollyoak's commentary and great racing all round.

Well done to the drivers and great respect to support to Torch

Thanks Steve

There's a blog of my day on line at http://mrmagoo-rc.blogspot.com/2011/...-sunshine.html for them's as interested.

I've got some video footage of the 4wd A final to upload in the next day or so once BT get my Infinity hooked up. At 500Mb it takes too long to upload using vanilla broadband!

Cool.

Oh let me know re the Infinity as I'm eyeing it up too as I'm wanting to host my own Exchange box again, however I do have messagelabs protection on my current set-up

Cool. I'm with Sky at the mo, but what's holding me back from BT is a) the cost b) I'm due to get the anytime+ service from sky and it's a sky broadband service only

Mind you I get about 6Mbps with Sky at present so have no real need for the speed.

Just got a bit of a LAN at home with ESX etc running an AD/Exchange solution etc. Also got Apple TV etc recently too.

So when is the Rango getting a run and did it survive shake down?
