You won't go far wrong with the Hobbywing 1s 120a esc.
No booster needed. Does 'Blinky' or TOTF .
Can be programmed from and LCD tuning box

Default 1s speedo advice reqd please.

Advice required please on the 1s speedo. I have fitted the above into a Mardave VRX together with a Novak Ballistic 13.5T motor and 1s lipo. (Motor and lipo spare in box)
1, Has anybody tried this.
2, Advice on settings please for both blinky and TOTF.
3, Do you need to have capacitors fitted?
4, What software programme is required in my 2-1 programme box.
4, Gearing for a large and small track.

Any advice greatly received.

For the hobbywing:

-Run both caps
-Use the usb lead provided with the program box to connect the speedo to the pc.
-Download the usb software from the hobbywing website http://www.hobbywing.com/english/downloadsm.asp?id=31.
-Click on the software tab and select the 508 software like so:

Your speedo will now be in blinky mode

If you change the esc software remember to re-tune your tranny to esc

There is a four power cap option available also

TOTF= Timing On The Fly
the speedo changes the timing of the motor,as it accelerates,to the settings you have put into it

BLINKY= different software setting. the speedo does not change the motor timing
the led on the speedo blinks to show it is on this setting

HTH

It would need to be the Version 2 type to run on 1S LiPo without booster.

I don't think the original ones are updateable so you just set the boost to 0 - Full details are on the 1/12th list.
