Question Best motor fan for 1/10 buggy?

Hi,

I'm after recommendations for a good quality motor fan for use in my Cougar KC.

I've killed 2 recently, one an unknown brand and the other branded as muchmore, both of which have been killed by (I presume) the heavy landings from jumps at my indoor club.

I have been using a mount that clips around the motor can but I think that allows too much movement during an impact so I'm planning on taping the fan directly to the chassis from now on.

So far I've been using 40mm fans but switching to a 30mm fan would be fine. I'm powering from a spare receiver port but could connect to the battery direct if necessary.

Thanks in advance

I got a 3D printed bracket from RC Kleinkram which mounts pretty solidly to the chassis

Then they also do this

And there are some 30mm versions if you want that.

BTW, a solid mount is more likely to damage the fan. Depending on the orientation of the fan.

I've run several fans (, Hudy, Hobbyking etc) in these brackets (i have 3 or 4 of them, buggy, 8th, TC) and not yet had a fan fail. I use VHB tape to attach them to the chassis. SO they get a little damping..

The WTF (or other OEM brands that they make them for like Corally or Yokomo) made fans are amongst the very best that are out there, strong, reliable and robust

This one's been serving me well, lots of good reviews out there. Quite loud but I'm running it 2s direct, moves a ton of air. About 4 hours of driving on it it so far.
