The GM's are nice motors - I've tried the 10.5t and its more gutsy than the SP, Novak and X11 10.5t's I've used.

You don't want an x12 though - not if you are running timing advance. They run so much timing as stock they just don't like it. However, if you are running fixed timing (0 timing) class, an X12 might be an advantage.....

Sorry but I have to disagree, I'm running an X12 13.5 in TC with Hobbywing using timing advance and it goes great. I can't say which is best because I haven't used the GM but the X12 is certainly competitive. It is however true to say that the X12 probably won't need as much ESC timing as some other motors.

Not true at all, the X12 holds the lap record at my track in 10.5 boosted and is one of the most popular motors. It's a very powerful motor and superb in any class/wind.

The GM is also very good. In all honesty you'll be happy with either motor, they're two of the fastest out there.

I have experience using both these motors with a Tekin.
I would choose the X12 everytime. Its the fastest of the pair when used with a tekin as i have never been able to get enough timing on the Gm using a Tekin speedo.

I have not run a Flux with a Tekin, but i have run it with a Hobbywing and they need quite a lot of timing so i would probably steer clear of it.

The most succesful motor i have run with a tekin Rs is a Tekin Redline.
The redline always ran fast and never hot, it also lasted for many many runs.

Another one here for the x12. They are far more resilient to heat so if you screw up your ESC settings the motor is less likely to burn.
