90c cells are animals mate make the car way to aggressive lee runs them and his car is stupidly quick.
A wise rc man once told me you somtimes need to go slower to go faster and in a way its true to a point.
if you watch the vid of my car in the final it was slow yet I still did 16 laps including a 40sec first lap
You did 17 didn't you?

90C 5000's could deliver 450A, which is somewhat more than the 120-150A your esc can cope with. In fact, 45C 5000's delivering 225A is still more than the esc can take. I suspect its more the wiring or the being a new set of lipos....
I understand the 90c part is hear say, but there was a real noticable difference with them over 45c lipos that are relatively new and balanced ect etc

the throttle was more responsive, felt smoother and more direct than with the 45c, its hard to explain but im sold on the 90c lipos

im not saying its faster at all, just more consistent and smoother if that makes sense.

Just sell the buggy and buy a short course truck, it'll give you much bigger smiles and less trouble

totally agree with you martin, I NEVER drive flat out at any point, im more hesitant and always strive to drive smoother and finding better lines.

my take on it is i would be faster flat out but no doubt on my roof more, and being on your roof can often add 10seconds a lap, so my theory is if i hold back slightly and crash less I will reach the finish faster than flat out crash, flat out crash.

I have to say it works well, but im at the point now where i can see its holding me back now, if i can learn to push more without increasing time on my roof ill defo be up in the standing.

I have got up to a good standard with my fs now to a point I don't find the car to be challenging where as I am in the same situation as you with my rb5 its taking longer for me to get my thumbs back on the 2wd but its what I used to race back in the day so i find them more challenging to drive therefore more interesting

He did look VERY fast, although no where near as fast outdoors on Sunday.
his car looks well setup though. i was watching it while marshaling and it stuck to the track like S**T to a blanket.

I certainly got faster going from a 6.5t to a 10.5t, though in my case its sort of a reverse effect to what you guys are after - I drive aggressively, so I set my car to be smooth to compensate.
The best Lipo's to choose are a curious thing - I really like my 6000's not because of their capacity or punch, but the fact they are massively heavy. The car (which was designed with NiMH's in mind) is balanced nicely with them in without adding weights. I've tried 'better' cells in the car, and always felt they upset the way it drives.

Default BRCA Rules

You've raised a point there Si. Has anyone read the BRCA handbook?
You should be running to the minimum weight.
Running LiPo's gives you the chance to distribute the weight with lumps of lead etc. You may find the EXTRA weight you put in your cars with all the extra power you have these days will improve you set-up, totally.
