Si, whereabouts are you breaking them? We have had no issues at all and found them to be pretty bullet proof on both the X6 Cubed and the X6-S.

If you haven't already done so check that the front nose plate is bolted down properly my lad did one and it was down to the screws coming loose out of the front bulkhead.

It is snapping where the front nose plate starts kicking up

Si, any breakage there is usually caused by one of two things, either the three screws going down through the back of the top plate are loose or not tight enough, which will result in extra flex on the kick up in an impact, the second can be if the two rearward screws going up into the bulkhead are over-tightened and can split the chassis holes and weakened this area. Well worth checking both of these in case this is your problem....

Darren is correct, as usual.
The #1002 nose piece was part of the original X - 6. The first design was a touch too light, we experienced a few breakages, so for the second production run we added material in several places. Extensive "destructo testing" showed the new part to be extremely strong; Paul put the first one on his personal X - 6 and ran it more than 10 times at top speed into a concrete barrier. He couldn't break it. #1002 is standard on the stadium truck and the short course, both of which are heavier vehicles than the Cubed, and we have had no issues with it. As Darren says, virtually every broken nose piece has been the result of loose bolts or the AE top deck was improperly seated on the post. The front end depends on careful installation and everything being tight (not over-tight) so the top deck shares the load. The same thing happens to the B4 molded chassis. If the top deck is loose, they break in the same spot. |
