Although AE probably wouldn't have told them (except maybe to prep for launch), CML will have known this was coming at some point...it was inevitable!

The B5m will probably not carry any of the fundamental Centro design features either...they will probably have looked at the Centro, plus all the other mid cars for design reference in the development though, so AE will owe no one anything for its cars...that's just normal competition...and both CML and AE are playing the same game there.

CML are essentially just a distribution company to AE, so unless AE and CML have an agreement stating they can't sell competing products, which they won't have I'd have thought given the size of their catalogue and nature if their business, the C4.2 will still be another mid motor car car option for everyone to choose from!

You never know...CML might be able to make a C5 out of the B5/B5m bits...if they decided it was worthwhile

That said, the Centro was built so their UK race team could stay up front...with an AE mid motor option now available, that could change things...interesting times

yeah lets no forget Jonathan from atomic carbon as with out him the c4 would never of happened!
it is what it is! AE had to bring a platform to the table and I am sooooo glad they made a mid motor and rear motor kit rather than compromise one!
I think both look awesome and cant wait to build one, the C4 will still be around a while yet and will still be a competitive car I'm sure.
exciting times ahead

The Atomic Carbon team that were behind the S2 were super proud that CML took on the S2 platform and developed it, had several conversations with Jonathan about it and there was much back slapping involved. To see that car take a 1-2-3 in it's first National year made me grin from ear to ear.

If the B5m shares any of the DNA from such a sucessful car as the C4 it will be awesome as far as I'm concerned.

ps. Put my name on one from the first batch please CML

That is going to complete the evolution for my collection S2 prototype cars - S2 production Cars - C4 - B5m

Default Let's not forget

Hey guys - Bear in mind that neither the S2 nor the centro would exist if it were not for the B4 in the first place. Not only that but CML distribute the AE, and the sales will boost wih potentially greater profit for them than from C4.2 sales alone.
AE did this with the JConcepts 4wd that became the B44 - sad thing is that I think Jconcepts really did lose lose out.
The AE TC was the basis of the first Durango 4wd.
It's a shame AE took so damn long - that said I bet you it will be the best handling mid car of the lot

Oh man... here I was recently posting about how AE are top notch and dont re-hash current models unlike some "newer" makers... now look what has happened..?! Me and my big mouth eh?

Seems to me there is mileage in being a "new" brand after all... the big boys have had to offer a mid-motor config to keep up with the current trend!! Mind you, as pointed out, AE are offering two distinct chassis as opposed to one that can be adjusted to suit... jack of all trades etc.. Being AE I'm sure both will be a great success so well done to 'em

Hhmmm... I sense some cheap B4's and B44's coming up for us low-budget club/basher Northern monkeys...

I'm not sure about cheap B44's coming but probably be a few top spec C4.2's around as team drivers are told to run the new B5.
I wonder how this will work for those that have had to pay for B4.2 & C4.2 kits in the last couple of months and now find AE want then to run the new car?

Most of the top guys in the UK who run AE cars are CML drivers anyway so no doubt they'll continue to run the C4.2 I'd think.

Looks like a mass produced C4.2 to me, like the B44 was a mass produced BJ4WE Will be interesting to see some photos without electrics in, so you can see how they have stopped the back end flexing.

Looking at it, its the same as the RB6 with the motor guard attached to the gear box then attached the to chassis. Another RB6 feature they have attained!

No, I'd have thought everyone will be running the B5M soon as it ships.
