Do we make shock guards or buy them?

You can buy them from MB.

i don't believe that there's any issue with making your own - so long as they are functionally going to protect the carpet to the same degree.

Easy enough to make? or just cheap enough to buy one?

Yes, Michael has ordered a large quantity which I understand he will offer at a reduced price.
You are not forced to buy the ones for sale in the shop, however each driver will have to seek approval from the club to ensure that their version offers the correct level of protection against track surface damage. This obviously applies to every vehicle if drivers have multiple cars available.

Many cars now, including mine, have front wings. Are they acceptable ?
I presume "yes" as Neil Cragg, amongst others, was using one on the same carpet at EOS..!

Each car will be assessed before it runs on the track. if the wing offers what's deemed as adequate protection then it will be allowed to run, if not then tower protection must be put on. We will also look for loose screws on chassis bottoms. A good tip is to reverse the shock top mount screws so the button head is forward, and the nut and screw end is at rear of tower.
