Default 2016-17 Indoor Season

After a great outdoor season, our indoors season is now upon us and we are moving to our new winter home at the fabulous MB models raceway. As many know, the purpose built facility will offer a permanent winter home for the club with a brand new full carpet off road track featuring "EOS" carpet.

The full indoor season calendar is posted below and we'll be offering the usual club meetings and a Winter series over 5 meetings. Also new for this season is mid week Wednesday night racing.

The first meeting is this coming Wednesday (21st Sept), doors open and booking in from 5.30pm, aim to be racing by 7pm. The track will be new, so we may have a final bit of taping and adjustment before practice begins. Please bare with us on the first night to get the final track preparation done.

Sunday club meetings will start at 11am, Winter series and Xmas meetings start at 10am.

The usual Batley club team will be running the race control and booking in. Front shock tower protectors are mandatory, and all cars will be checked by a Batley club committee member prior to being allowed to on the track to practice. Shock tower protectors will be available in the MB models shop.

Pit tables, chairs and mains power are provided. Please bring a pit mat or towel for the pit table. All charging must be done in a lipo bag.

There is no control race tyre for club meetings, but its suggested that Schumacher minipins and cut staggers in yellow will be the best tyre to use.

Racers new to Batley Buggy club must show their BRCA card on booking in, and please have Transponder numbers to hand if you haven't raced at Batley before.

Wednesday racing format is 5 min heats, and we aim to give three rounds plus finals. Classes are 2wd and 4wd 1/10th off road buggy.

The MB Models shop and cafe will be open during the meetings.

Here's to a great indoors season!

My son's fancying a return to racing at Batley after giving up Karting; we have DEX210's but these seem to have disappeared from the scene? What are the buggys of choice now, and what motor configuration will be best for the new indoor track?

Thanks, Paul.
