Had a very quick skip a bit read of the article over a brew and I think this is almost linked to my Thread about 10th off road! Touring car drivers can drive off road because off road is all about fast consistency now with super fast grippy cars, not how to drive bumps like kinwald would yes granted there are big jumps but they stay the same all weekend. I maybe wrong but touring car drivers can take a little longer to get to grips with a rallyx car on a big dirt track and take it straight to the A at an international meeting?

My opinion I think it's quite arrogant of him. The drivers he is talking about all race as a job and can drive anything that's why they are in a privileged position to be a paid driver. It's almost like he is saying off-road drivers wouldn't cut it in touring cars. Urmmm didn't Ryan cavalieri win the ROAR touring car nats this year.

Interesting article,
I think at he very top end there is some truth there, however how many top offroad drivers want to drive or even race a TC?

I also don't agree that Gas powered on road is underpowered!!!

I think this article is about promoting Touring cars, Im sure you could spin any race class to make it look like the premium!!

I think that if you're good you're good no matter what class you race

Andreas will always tell it "as he sees it". Sometimes people agree, sometimes people don't but it is making people think and talk about it.

The power thing is interesting. Around 5 years ago, I went to an open track practice day at Halifax. Our electric modified touring cars were faster than the 10th nitro cars, both down the straights and round the lap. The 8th cars were faster round corners, and about the same on the main straight (both being driven by some of UK / Europes best). That was at the very beginning of brushless and lipo, so electric cars have got faster in the time since.
