In terms of rims, members can run which ever 20-25mm wide rims they like so long as they are using the tyres and inserts.

The weight for the 1:10th scale Touring Cars will be set to the new BRCA weight which is 1350g. Your car must weight no less than this, ready to race with shell on. We shall be checking weights of all cars throughout the championships.

Motors for the 1:10 must be 27Turn brushed and no faster than 13.5 Brushless. Ride height is 5mm minimum.

All members will be given 1 warning during the championship if they are not following the rules. Second time you will lose points in the championships.

You have been warned

Check our web site for all the rules of the club and championship here:

http://www.bedsrcmcc.co.uk/club-rules.php

Track 10 will be used throughout the Championships:

http://www.bedsrcmcc.co.uk/tracks.php

Can members who are running 27MHz please try and have at least 1 spare set (ideally 2 spare sets) of crystals as you need to be able to change if necessary in the heats or finals to prevent crystal clashes.

Format of the racing will be 2 x 3min qualifying heats with 2 x 5min finals. Points will be awarded to the combined results of the final as they were in the previous Championships. new for 2010 is the addition of 2 more points on offer. These go to the A Final winner on the night for each class (1:10 and 1:18) and an extra point is available also in each class for the fastest qualifier on the night.

The championships will be 7 rounds with top 5 to count, so you can drop 2 worst scoring meetings.

We do not have any rules as such for the 1:18 buggies/trucks. We are just running them this time as an open class with F1 and F2 driver classification. We'll see how this class works out, though Trophies will still be awarded to those racing in the Championship.

Default Some great racing...

Although we had a few less drivers this week due to many not being able to attend due to either holidays or work committments, the racing was still as good as ever. Nice to see that we have some fresh compeition in the F1 class for the Touring Cars and we had our first female driver, so all in all a great evening.

Watching Tom and Cory's final was fantastic, some great wheel to wheel racing from those two drivers and Ryan was on form again tonight - you need to work on your fast corners and you'll soon be mixing it in the higher heats Ryan.

Craig got some good points tonight with the 1:18 buggies, despite running one heat with a burnt out motor and another with only 3 wheels!

Only two more rounds left now and although the top slots look pretty secure for the F1 drivers, there are still plenty of places up for grabs for 2nd and 3rd places. Should have the points and race results up tomorrow (Saturday).

See you all next week...

Current driver tables with just 2 more rounds to go...

http://www.bedsrcmcc.co.uk/championship-winter2010.php

It is clear to see that Scott has won back-to-back Championships after Round 5 but it's not over for the rest of you just yet...

Touring Cars
The top 5 F2 drivers can still win in F2, while in F3 there are still 5 drivers also able to win their groups.

1:18 Buggies/Trucks
In F1 there are still 4 drivers who can win the group while in F2 we have, mathematically the potential of 11 drivers who can still win the F2 group. It's a long shot for some but it just goes to show how close the racing has been this year so far.

Don't forget that you drop your 2 worst rounds so be careful when reviewing the current tables...

Good luck to you all

The championship is now over, well done to you all.

I shall hold back posting this weeks results until after we've handed out all the throphies - 15 in total!

We will do that either this week coming or the following week's meeting, although I notice thats on the following Monday so it may have to wait until Friday 9 April...
