Default Dex210 Servo Saver

I am in the process of building a dex210 kit along with a savox 1258 servo and I've noticed the kit does not have a servo saver. My RTR 210 does have one, should I be using one? If so should I nick the one off the RTR or is there a better one available?

Thanks Marley

No just a plastic servo horn you shouldnt need a servo saver buggies is meant to be non contact racing
But yh thre rtr has one as the servo isnt that great but with a decent servo savox 1251 or similar the servo horn is what you want
Cars that have a servo saver built in usually get glued up

I use a 1258 with both my 210's and no servo savers.

I have not broke any of them yet :-)

So i presume a plastic servo horn would just sheer before the titanium servo gears?

Hi Mate,

Generally there is no need to run a servo saver in Dex210. The rtr comes with a servo saver becouse it was designed for the rtr type driver and also the servo gears wont be as tuff as the savox.

I am also running a Savox 1258 in my Dex210 and the plastic servo horn will go before the servo gears.

A Savox 1258 works fine without a servo saver in the 210. Almost two years now and no problems.

TBH, i found the stock RTR servo (bit weedy, bit slow) matched with the rather bouncy and elastic servo saver to be almost useless! Switched to the plastic servo arm and promptly stripped the servo! (Do generally drive on very high traction surfaces, that probably has something to do with it!)

Using one of the MKS servos now, with an aluminium servo arm, similar set up in my other 210 has lasted over a year with no issues.

I don't use a servo saver and I use the metal servo horn from a TLR 22, servo is a Savox 1251. Haven't had any problems yet and if you crash I think its more likely the ball cup will pop off than anything happening to the servo. Also 10ths are really light and I don't think servo savers are necessary like they are on 8th cars.
