Trackstar gen 2 settings

I have ordered up a trackstar gen2 plus a 6.5 motor with a programming box to go in my original b44, having previously used brushed motors and esc's where the only worry was gearing it correctly and turning the current limiter up or down I am confused by the plethora of settings available , just wondering if any one can make any suggestions for what gearing I should start out with and whether I should use any of the settings on the speedo like frequency, boost turbo etc. any advice or explanations of what they do would be greatly appreciated.
