Yeah its got one. Rather than having the spur gear clamped between the plates, it is behind the spur on the Cat.
Not sure how well it works compared to a double sided slipper on the B4 for example. I was thinking about modifying it to have a double slipper instead!

I used a Cat 2000 until recently, with modern cells (4200 IB) and a good brushed system (Orion 10x1) and for me, the weak point of the transmission is the blade system.
You have to check the wear at almost every run to avoid destroying the diff outdrives. But what a car on astro or carpet !

I was running my 2000 ec up until last year at the Nationals using 4200's and 9 single v motor and replaced them every other meeting. I only ran the 6 nationals and still was running well. Is this a return to off road Nick i havent seen you race since The Euros at teeside back in the 90's. I think i remember you making the A final that day,

Lets post setups for our cats, in this section. I hope my slider driveshafts last out, although I will running the car on carpet to start with. Should be good.
Anyone got a starting setup with Schumey Shocks?

Mark, good plan - Shall we start a new thread for Set-ups?? I played with the Schumacher shocks and ended up finding that Losi Natural pistons with 40 and 35wt was about right! Not sure on Schumacher pistons, but maybe 2 hole and 35/40wt?

Cheers buddy. I read on another thread that Assoc No.3 pistons were all the rage. I also changed to Losi Shock Shafts since they were longer and gave lots more downtravel. I hope this improves the cars bump handling.

I tried Associated No3's but it felt way too soft to be honest, if you can get hold of some Losi pistons i'd definitely recommend trying the White/Natural ones as it felt far better with those on (only on the bench, but you can get a good idea if it feels "right" or not)

Setups for my old cat 2000 are probably one thing i'll never forget!!
Schumcaher Shocks Associated No3 pistons all round 40wt front, 35 rear. Blue front spring, Grey rear Rear roll bar. Worked virtually everywhere!

rear top link (depending on bracket) Top inner on kit - however, carbon had an extra pair of holes above kit. Rear toe - 3 deg. Personally i preferred outboard - plastic inner blocks and 3 deg hubs - but some ran alloy inner blocks and 0 hubs. These were for "laydown" cars btw!

Thought i'd just quickly update this - I ran the car at Lee's CML Raceway on Saturday just to see how it went and surprisingly it was pretty good! This was just on worn yellows, and the track was a tad damp in patches (Mainly all Astro).
The suspension seemed about right to be honest, which was again Associated Shocks, Losi Pistons all round with 35wt Front and 30wt Rear.

A guy down the street has one of these or he's getting one
when it comes out. He had a 501x original before. I like shumacher stuff, easpecially the ball-cups very stiff.
