Default Kyosho Optima Mid Turbo SE

Hi all, 1st can i say a massive thank you to Danb4 and Peakey with out there help i would never of know what i had stumbled on.
It all started as a kid loved the cat xls but always found the Optima mid to be such a good looking car.

I never got round to owning one and when i saw John Weston (Iconic rc) selling a mid i thought yes its time.
I missed it and only by 5 mins, gutted!!!

So i was then on the search, just wanted a mid with white wheels, turbo being even better, couple on ebay at the time nothing special.

While searching i also got a Cat xls so was asking Peakey for some info and hence Dan getting involved as he had a few Kyosho's for sale, but a little out of my price range (you pay for what you get).

Then i saw one on here but was a bit pricey but the chap very kindly dropped the price and we came to a deal, posted next day to.

I got it and was a very happy Chappy.
I was showing Dan, (not to rub the salt in the wound) and he said couple of things to make it a mid turbo properly, to be honest i was not to concerned at 1st as i had a mid in front of me.

Hour or so Dan started asking questions like take shell off let me see inside, cut a long story a little shorter he noticed things i would not of known.

He even had me scraping the inside of the wheels to see what colour they were before being painted white, 25 years of wanting one and im marking this one!!!!!!!!!!!!!.

But it was all a good thing as he also asked his mate Joel another Mid mad man and between them both they confirmed its not a mid turbo its a mid turbo SE.

Well i was a bit surprised and rather happy, but not as happy as today when i spent hours cleaning the wheels back to the lovely original colour they should be on a SE.

This one will not be leaving this household but it will be in the future have a couple by its side.
Just need to change the decals.....

Hope you like the pics.
Thanks
Leon

I'm glad I could help Leon, it's come up great and will look even better with the SE decals

It took a few miliseconds to realise it could be an SE, the hard part was working out via whatsapp if it was a Turbo with some SE parts or if it was an original SE......when I read that the wheels had been painted white I had a feeling they may be silver underneath but had no idea they'd be almost new! The Ball Diffs, Option House Platinums, Tie Rods and Motor Brace all pointed towards it being an original SE which I am now 100% sure it is. Nice find!

Fantastic, enjoy the car
