And the electric cars will be like toys compared to the quicker of the 8th scale cars !!!

Interesting question that but i think like for like the 8th scale will be quicker round there. The bigger cars will be able to clear the bigger jumps making up time and a few of the sections will still be more "favoured" by the 8th scales. Ill race my 2wd and nitro car that day so we should get a good comparison in lap times...

I think the electrics would leave the 8th scale cars for dust, the only thing is that the track is bumpy and the 10ths may not be able to get the power down so easy. Also if you get the jumps wrong with the 10th scales, they will break.

But i would bet that i could get my x5 round quicker than i could any 8th scale.

I can see arguments for both sides of the coin on the nitro vs electric debate maybe it depends on what your used to. Im an 8th scale driver who does a little 10th racing and i know for a certain fact i would be quicker with my 8th scale car than my 10th car. Why ? The 8th car has so much more power and physical speed, it jumps and handles bumps so much better and generates more grip than a 10th buggy but will lack the nimbleness of a 10th scale car. However as many of you are the opposite to me and drive 10th scale all the time i dont doubt you could throw one round a track quicker.
Its horses for courses really, an 8th scale car will be quicker round an 8th scale track and a 10th scale car will be quicker round a 10th scale track. What makes it interesting is that NRX lies somewhere in the middle. its a "short" rallycross track or a "long" 10th buggy track depending on how you look at it..........
But Tim you had better dust off your 4.5 turn to have any sort of chance

How much is membership, and can I join on the 1st March when I come to the meeting? Cant wait to try and get near the 8th lap times on there, though I dont think a 4.5 will be needed, that'll probably be too much.

If I remember membership is £11, yes you'll be able to join on the 1st.

The track for 10th will be slightly shorter than the 1/8th one as the furthest part is a long way to see a 10th car.

If you want to have a go on this sunday we'll hopefully be finishing the track alterations on the morning and running a free practice session for those that have helped on the afternoon.

No, I have slightly more important things to do, finding you lot somewhere to race for the summer is probably a good start. Then I need to find a new indoor venue ready for sept.

Unless someone else wants that job, hint hint.

bcause everytime something is said you get no responce, I believe neil has tried a few places for indoor racing and I've asked people to come up the track and help level it out so 1/10th can run, the grand sum of no one bothered.

Surely we should look after the core of racers every week at our club. Im sure that Durham would be out of the way for the majority. I personally couldnt travel to Durham for a race night. I will be gutted if we cant get something sorted as our club is awesome.
