Default Associated TC7.1

Hi Guys

More of a query than anything else.

Ive recently returned to racing after a long lay off, and when I was running before, the TC3/4 Ft's were great and very popular cars.

Noticed since I came back that there isnt a lot of talk about the current Associated TC cars. Have their qualities/performance dropped right off?

The 6 was not that popular, it was terrible quality and would break easily. The 7 is a much better car and so the chassis has become a little more popular again. The 7.1 is about to get an update soon apparently.

For club racing the main chassis is Xray, then you have Yokomo and schumacher. The less common ones are the Awesomatix etc. As is always the way its probably best to pop down to the local club and see what they race. There are regional variations on what some of the popular chassis are.

The 7.1 is a really good solid car. I'm just about to retire my first 7.1 kit, in just over a year of running (ready to build a fresh one for this year's national season), I'm pretty sure I haven't replaced a single part other than consumables - belts, driveshaft blades.

I may have a look for next year then Matt. I always liked the build quality but just shelled out for a lot of Schumacher stuff
